DQ381 / DQ500 Pressure Sensor Repair — Aftermarket Sensors

We replace the clutch pressure sensors on DQ381 and DQ500 7-speed wet DSG mechatronics using quality aftermarket sensors. Both sensors are replaced at the same time. One often fails first, but the other is usually not far behind, so fitting both together avoids a second repair shortly after.

This listing is for the sensor repair only. Drop the mechatronic off, or post it to us. We drill out the old sensors, fit the replacements, and return the unit ready to fit.

If you want the full service — removal, repair, refit, oil and filter change — contact us for a price. That is priced separately.

Genuine Bosch sensors are also available if you prefer the original-spec option. Message us and we will price that instead.

Common fault codes
These are the codes we see most often when the pressure sensors have failed:

  • P1735 / P173500 — Position sensor for clutch 1, electrical malfunction (symptom 10666)
  • P1736 / P173600 — Position sensor for clutch 2, electrical malfunction (symptom 10668)
  • P175E00 — Position sensor for clutch 1
  • P176E00 — Position sensor for clutch 2

Related codes that can appear alongside them include P0805 (clutch position sensor circuit), P175D00 / P176F00 (clutch opens unintentionally), and P0810 (clutch control signal fault). The fault usually returns straight after it is cleared.

Typical symptoms

  • Gearbox in limp mode or emergency programme
  • Only odd gears (1, 3, 5, 7) or only even gears (2, 4, 6, R) available
  • Harsh or delayed shifts, especially pulling away
  • Transmission warning on the dash (“gearbox fault — drive possible”)
  • Worse when the gearbox is hot
  • Fault codes return after clearing

Why both sensors
The two sensors work as a pair. Replacing only the failed one often means the other follows soon after. Fitting both at once is the reliable repair.

What is included

  • Both pressure sensors replaced at the same time
  • Quality aftermarket sensors
  • Unit drop-off or posted to us with a 24-hour turnaround time
  • 12-month warranty on the work

Not included
Removal and refit of the mechatronic, oil and filter change. Contact us if you want the full service priced.

How to book
Call or message us with the registration, a photo of the mechatronic label, and the fault codes if you have them. We will confirm it is a DQ381 or DQ500 and arrange the repair. Ask for genuine Bosch if you prefer that option.
